Welcome!
My name is Jennifer Vandevis & I am a Registered Massage Therapist, born & raised in Bradford, Ontario. I graduated with honours from the Massage Therapy program at Georgian College in December of 2012, and became licensed as a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario in June 2013. Since then I have begun my very exciting career in this field! There are so many reasons why I love massage therapy, but along with helping people deal with their pain and discomfort, I love that it also can act as a prevention method against illness and injury.
During my time in school & in my practice, I have worked with a variety of clients ranging in age, gender, and health, which has improved my ability as a therapist to establish goals and treatment plans with each client--all representing different needs.
After gaining experience working as an RMT for the past 8 years, I have now opened a treatment room in my home here in Midland, Ontario. I continue to also work in Barrie as well, dividing my time currently between the two locations. This site will be dedicated to Midland location, but if you are looking for treatment in Barrie, please contact me and I will point you in the right direction!
Treatments that I provide, can be either deep tissue or relaxation based. I have done further training in massage therapy for pregnancy, so I can ensure that your treatments during this time will be safe and effective for both mom and baby. Regardless of what treatment type we use, my practice is always outcome and evidence-based. Outcome based massage means that we are working together towards an outcome at the end of the treatment or treatment plan, rather than just 'making you feel good'. These outcomes might include: reducing pain, increasing range of motion, increasing the ability to walk for longer periods of time, etc. By including an assessment, we can work to find the source of the issue you are experiencing, making the treatment more effective.
Please also check out my Facebook page 'Jennifer Vandevis, RMT' for updates with available appointments and massage therapy facts and tips.
There should always be a time that we set aside to get back to ourselves and our body, and become well again. Whole body wellness is important for our everyday living and prevention against illness and injury, and massage therapy from an RMT can play a major role in maintaining this. Do yourself a favour and "get back to you".
